My fault for letting that humidity get to the red paper that wrapped the bottle. Damage only limited to the label, thankfully. Concentrated red and blue fruit. Focused on the palate with a long finish. Tannins are really integrated and this bottle is 100% pleasure!

California fruit in a restrained, tart style. Just entering it’s prime.

Old school battle. Blankiet takes it easily. Perhaps a vintage disadvantage for Dalla Valle? Haven’t had many 2000’s. Hour 2 update: both wines have calmed down and the Dalla Valle has improved considerably. Both wines are fully mature, smooth, integrated, and complex. Dead heat.
