5 Year Old Sercial Dry Madeira

Medium amber; medium intensity aromas of dried apricots, mangos, pineapple, orange peel, sultanas, caramel, hazelnut; dry, high acid, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors of orange, tangerine, grapefruit, marmalade, cinnamon, white ginger, nutmeg, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, medium plus length

So much like brandy but so good. Light sweetness and a whiskey-like finish. Our first Madeira ... great introduction.

Is this a touch sweet for a Sercial? Then again I’ve found myself wondering that with other Sercial before, so maybe my barometer for sweetness in the variety is just off. Still very enjoyable
