This one took a while to figure out. One of those wines where you’re not sure if it’s corked or not. I always let those sit for ~10min: if it’s corked it will get worse, and if not it should improve. This one definitely improved, with that initial funkiness on the nose evolving into more of a burnt cigar aroma you sometime get in older cool-climate syrahs. I personally prefer The Dare from 2009, but this was an interesting one to sample over time.

Was gone drink this with my (good friend Jim kaylor ) till I find out that his wife really holds his nuts in her hands I got one more bottle of this good stuff so when you grow some new nuts give me a call and will drink it

Mar 21st, 2019A terrific offering from Blair Fox, the 2007 Terra Alta syrah exhibits classic central coast syrah aromas of roasted meat (reminiscent of Alban - though not quite in the same league), along with considerable depth and balance. Probably peaking right now, this was a terrific syrah to share with our dear friends Gavin and Claire on their first night back visiting Michigan!

Great nose ...dark fruit and leather smell ...nice and smooth on the palate... Dark fruit...very good wine !
