When your car breaks down and you have 2 hours to kill before the tow truck gets there so you go to Walmart next door and grab a sack of babybel and a bottle of merlot.

Medium to deep tawny red. Damp newspaper on the nose. Solid acidity with medium tannins (5.5/10). Light to medium bodied with dried cherries, and a touch of sweet spices. A little dry with a short finish. Past its prime.

Definitely cheap wine but not the worst cheap wine....strong burnt spice finish and it leads with almost nothing. Not a wine I'm personally keen on but it's drinkable.

Really nice aroma. Lush fruit flavor, a short oaky aftertaste.

An uninspired, easy and simple red. Has just the bare minimum for drinkability. Alright, but not very good.

Big plum nose and a smooth development of strong fruit with moca, vanilla and light oak on the palet. Drinkable with a mild tannin finish. A California Merlot for sure. Good table wine.

I get this wine at Costco for $5 bucks a bottle. The best $5 a bottle wine you will find!
