Blackstone Winery
California Merlot
Medium to deep tawny red. Damp newspaper on the nose. Solid acidity with medium tannins (5.5/10). Light to medium bodied with dried cherries, and a touch of sweet spices. A little dry with a short finish. Past its prime.

If you have the 2003 vintage 14 years later perhaps a course of action would be to drink it fast, no pauses between sips. Very “unique” aftertaste. Not quite vinegar but it is on approach.

Jan 21st, 2018I think this may be my favorite cheap wine. Fruit forward with blackberry and a smooth finish.

Aug 27th, 2017Not too dry, very smooth, and rich in berry and oak flavors. This could very well become my go-to merlot!

May 22nd, 2016Think Peyton Manning. Still good but better days are a few years back. Does go well with our dinner though.
