Black Forest Distillers
Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
A great gin. First time I had this was at Eleven Madison Park, and I was impressed. Not sure it’s worth the price but then that’s true for a lot of high end products.

Jul 3rd, 2020Monkey 47 Dry Distiller Gin. Slightly hazy, water white, colourless. Pronounced intensity of perfume, juniper, lingonberry, violets, lavender, orange and grapefruit zest. With water added, more perfume and citrus notes to the fore. Dry on the palate. Warming alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavour intensity. Long finish. Very complex. Outstanding example of a premium gin.

Monkey 47, when served with Fever Tree Refreshingly Light Tonic, is a stunningly fresh, lively, complex and intriguing drink - no guest has ever been satisfied with just one. It's a hell of a gin. Aromatic and arresting, the myriad herbs that comprise Monkey 47 each play their note in the orchestra that is this gin. I'm English and I like London gins, and perhaps I'm lacking loyalty by loving this Black Forest beauty, but so be it. This Monkey's Gone to Heaven.

1 person found it helpfulApr 29th, 2016I am a happy girl! Received my FAVORITE Gin as a (very, very) belated birthday gift. Distilled from 47 unusual botanicals which combines English tradition, Indian exoticness, and the purity of the Black Forest. I am drinking straight up slightly chilled where I sip, savor, smile, and repeat. #monkey47
