Ü Pastine Portofino Bianchetta Genovese
Tasted with marvelous branzino with fresh herb and tomato “spring caponata,” this wine was an ideal embodiment in a glass of the “macchia,” the Italian version of the Rhône’s “garrigue.” Bright pear, apple, lemon and yellow plum with an underlying steely minerality and wonderful sensations of hay and salt air-tinged brush. Surprisingly juicy but also lean, it’s an ideal wine for fish

Jun 1st, 2022I find this more interesting than enjoyable. Quite a savory and tense wine, in a way that perhaps “gives” less than I hoped. Floral and a bit minerally. Restrained. Clearly well made.
