Serious Aglianico. Tannic beast with tremendous intensity and complexity. Resinous, smoky aromas and notes of cherry, plum, black currant, herbs, peppermint candy, menthol, coffee and tobacco. Very mineral-driven palate impression overall, and with searing tannins that still need some time to settle down. Time should be rewarding- this is already a terrific wine that brings some serious value.

Jan 26th, 2018Big, extracted Aglianico. Not the style I tend to like, but this is well made. Fig, pepper, a dusty quality, and quite tannic.

A little extracted but nice rich mid-palette with scorched earth, black fruits, and hints of incense. Good.

Oct 17th, 2017Very good wine that requires some decanting. Rasperries, blackberries, dried figs, black tea, cooked mushrooms, leather and mocha. Tannic but air will smooth things out.
