Can't say I've had a lot of examples of saperavis (one of the few grapes with colored juice),but this was interesting. Reminded me a lot of the North American Norton varietal, this wine was a bit one-dimensional but had a lot of fruit coupled with an earthy, almost musky undertone. Was significantly better when chilled down a few degrees (say, at cellar temp - this had been on the shelf), as well as when paired with food.
