Feb 20th, 2019Now this is a wine I can get behind. Poured out into the glass, it is surprisingly pale, almost a rose. Initially the nose doesn't give up much, a hint perhaps of menthol and cherry fruit. On the palate though, it is finesse and focus in abundance. The oak is evident and well integrated, lots of sweetly acid fruit and elusive elements that may be mineral or balsamic or spice (or permutations thereof) depending on your perspective. Resolutely 'feminine' and 'mysterious' as a good Pinot should be.
