A big and bold Chardonnay from California.

Showing red apples, oak, vanilla, white pepper and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium minus acidity.

Oaky and buttery, but a little hot and unbalanced. Not bad for the price, though.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

84 points.

$7.

Bitter with a tart aftertaste. Utterly undrinkable.

Oaky with a buttery finish and not too sweet. This is my new favorite Chardonnay!

Big oak, big butter, big tropical fruit notes. Some acidity is present. Nothing remotely subtle about it. Fun wine and would be great for parties. $7-ish per my coworker who found it at Trader Joe’s (a great value). The label looks like a Charles Smith Wine, so I’m thinking they’re producing it for TJ’s? Had it with a green salad and spinach tamales.

Buttery, fruity, not too sweet. Easy drinking, great with a salad or fish.

Yeah, there’s oak and butter and vanilla but those flavors are too intense and almost artificial on the finish. I’ll spend a little more for my next Chard which should be much better.

Oak favor? Soaked with oak chips? Nice balance of sweet and tart. Ripe stone fruit.
