Dark and stormy purple in the glass. Smells herbal with a touch of mineral oils/citrus extract. Flavors are savory and succulent. Bacon bits with blackberry jam and elderberry syrup. Tannic. Dense. Big. But it’s complex and true. Slightly fruit forward. A lovely Petite Sirah (aka Durif in France). Pretty close in flavors to the field blend known as Petite Sirah from Berryessa Gap, but the stand alone in blended one is a bit more tannic. Less smooth. Ruddy-er. But still amazing.
