Quarry Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Ripe and showy, leaning toward cocoa and licorice, dark fig and prune. Not going to have too many more years, but it's in a nice place right now.

I thought that I was about 5 years too late opening the first of 2....turns out that the second one will probably not be opened up for another five years. This wine was a touch flat opening up, but was displaying a profile of dark chocolate from the start and a flatter acidity towards the finish. As this one sat over the course of an hour, it changed QUITE a bit. Perfectly aged blackberry, some dark chocolate dominated the front. More of a medicinal middle with black tea, herbs, backbone of aged blackberry. Finished with a chocolate and herb note, actually rather good acidity and tannin. This was my first of the 05 Quarry Cabs, and now I'm really bummed that I don't have more. A nice bottle of wine in a really nice place right now.

super nice and evolved. not as good as the Home vineyard or Bancroft ranch but still a solid wine.

Blown away. This tasted incredible for being 12 years old
