1981. Amazing. Acidity and structure still there. Herbaceous, irony, and savory.

Deep Ruby for this Bordeaux blend, aromas of black fruits, herbs and sweet spice. On the palate rich flavors of blackberry and black cherry with smoky oak, leather, vanilla and cacao. Smooth tannins well balanced with savory acidity on a long finish ending with mineral tones. Nice value!

Deep, dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Great nose of cherries, strawberries, vanilla, cloves, honey, cedar, forest floor, curves, green pepper, spices, licorice, black-currant and black pepper.

Full bodied and elegant with nice legs and high acidity.

Dry and tart on the palate with cherries, strawberries, plums, pomegranate, black currants, earth, oak, vanilla, licorice, black pepper and herbs.

Sour finish with huge, angular tannins.

Still very young and austere, but would be great in 3 to 5 years, yet I still enjoyed it with my filet mignon.

Needs an hour to open up, which I didn't have, unfortunately.

14.3% alcohol by volume.

Blueberry, pepper, leather, pomegranate, cocoa and cassis. This is an elegant cab from a label known by all. Drinks like a $40 bottle.

This is what I expect a Cab to taste like when I close my eyes and imagine one. From the nose to the finish this is an excellent choice for the price and on it's own merit.

Great value cab! Good dark berry and bramble up front with firm medium tannins on the finish. A great value cab, with all the markings of a typical great cab at a fantastic price.

I grabbed this bottle for giggles. The last time I tasted this was at Beringer with Ed Sbragia a couple decades ago. Non-existent nose, slight funk or barnyard on the attack, followed by cassis. Lighter weight than I remember and a little simple. Structure is great with nice acidity and supple tannins. Getting better as it gets some oxygen.

It was a gift, and I made ribeye for dinner, so, you know, go fuck yourself.
