Founders' Estate California Malbec

Oddly licorice on the nose. Beautiful purple color. The anise is also present in the taste.

Oldie. Still looks pretty dark and stormy. Smells good, earthy with a hint of berries. Flavors are nice. Slight plum sauce. With hoisin sauce too. Plenty dry and easy. Complex even all these years later. Unique. Robust, but not fruit bombed.

Anise and dark cherry with a slight earthy note. A little oakyness on the finish.

I'm not sure how in the world they are making money at 5$ a bottle, but this is one heck of a budget buy. Hard to find something this tasty at this price, well done Beringer, well done. Every one of their Founders Estate series has been great for the price.

Excellent budget buy. Oaky but not offensively so. Great staple Malbec.

Better than the Syrah...more substance and body. Very affordable.
