My first post in 2021 also happens to be my 2000th wine in Delectable which, I guess is an achievement so we’re celebrating with some Bérêche. I believe this is the only wine in their incredible line-up that had, up until now, eluded me. Not any longer!

The 2016 Campania Remnsis pours a very pretty, pink/salmon color but the most remarkable aspect of the appearance is the gorgeous, everlasting mousse of this wine. It nearly carries a head! Pour after pour, the bubbles cover the disc for minutes before slowly beginning to dissipate, leaving a steady bead of bubbles for each glass. Initially, the nose was predominately cantaloupe (the delicious and juicy kind grown in sandy soils), raspberry, strawberry, baby roses, and salty sea breeze. After about an hour, however, the melon notes were replaced with Pink Lady apples and the faintest smell of a Cinnabon kiosk (no joke).
On the palate, this was so charming with Pink Lady apples, watermelon Jolly Rancher and chalky minerals.

As a complete package, the Campania Remesis is overwhelmingly fresh and full of excitement. Easily one of the more fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable pink champagnes I’ve had, ever. Disgorged March of 2020, Dosage 3.5g/l. 5318 bottles produced.

An electric bottle of champagne. So light, energetic, floral/bright red fruit. Really good. Mar 2020 disg.

Ripe strawberry rhubarb aromas with a bit of yeasty bread...very light, medium weight, tiny tight bubbles. Absolutely delicious accompaniment to Alaskan King Crab and Filets in honor of 18 years of marriage. Nicely balanced and pure pleasure!
