Disappointing. Every time I drink Rioja, I realize that if you want to drink quality, you have to stick to the old proven producers. La Rioja Alta, Lopez, CVNE, et al. This bottling reaffirms it.

Dried sage, cherry kirsch, with a little fresh cranberry on the nose. Juicy and well balanced in the mouth, with some cured meat (salami?), olive and sweet tobacco underneath. Good acid on the medium finish.
