Light to mid Ruby in colour. Aromatic red fruited perfume with jubey note. Light to medium bodied with soft red fruits along with cherry and loamy notes. Some new sources in this blend from 2015 - declassified Beaune and Monthelie villages - alongside the traditional Santenay villages and Santenay 1er Cru Commes. From young Benjamin Leroux whose star is rising. Consistent notes 12 weeks later on 9th December 2020. No need for further cellaring.

A peppery note on the nose showing evidence of whole bunch in the ferment. Rich red fruits of cherry and raspberry on the palate showing more new world in the warm 2015 vintage with ripe tannins. Some new sources apparently in this year’s blend including declassified Beaune and Monthelie villages alongside the traditional Santenay villages and Santenay 1er cru Commes. Excellent quality for a Village wine and great QPR.

Mid Ruby in colour. Aromas of dry cherry - some oaky notes and forest floor. One of the most full bodied Bourgogne Village wines I’ve ever had. Not sure the source of the fruit but 2016 had a vast Gevrey Chambertin component and this 2015 is probably similar. Very well handled extraction and treatment of ripe grapes in this warm year by young Benjamin Leroux regarded as one of the up and coming Burgundian winemakers. Also evidence of whole bunch - a lot going on for a $40 AUD Wine - great QPR. A bonus point for a screw cap on a red Burgundy

Some stalky peppery ginger notes - whole bunch? A juicy palate with flavours of dark cherry. Zero new oak influence. This is one of the ripest, flavoursome, most interesting Bourgogne Rouge I have ever tasted. Made by an up and coming young Burgundian winemaker in an excellent vintage.

Nice fruit-forward Bourgogne. Lots of cherry and very fresh. I could drink a lot of this.

Cherry, fruity, very composed. Just right. New to this producer but can say great year for this Bourgogne.

Fresh and cherry-delicious Wasserman/Favorite Brands Leroux import. The 2015s are reminiscent of the 2010s and 2005s... nicely fruit-forward.

So bright and pure. Vibrant red cherry, crunchy and youthful. Lovely Bourgogne from a super vintage.
