Medium ruby color with garnet ring. Pronounced aromas of spices, herbs, blackberry, blueberry, ripe strawberry, raspberry, cream and vanilla. Developing. Acidity is medium, tanins are medium, silky and well-integrated into structure. Medium body, pronounced flavor of black pepper, ripe strawberries, blackberry, touch of vanilla. Long finish. Extremely fresh and elegant expression of Syrah, very good wine.

Nice red ripe berry fruit and delicious upon opening. Probably needs decanting, but I'm jumping in!

On the nose a little gamey, palate is a little riper cherry with a bit of smoky peppery spice...good not great.

2011. Typicity and terroir. Youthful, with excellent concentration and balance. Acid that seems to grow as the wine evolves. Roasted meat, spice, and bits of anise. Tannins soft, just a whisper in front of the long, lingering finish.

I'd never heard of this producer and was a bit apprehensive.. what style would it be? Lots of new oak? Over extracted? All in all quite a pleasant surprise.
