Delicious. Tart balance. Cherries, cranberries. Mineral. Grippy tannins. Great value.

Well-balanced and restrained entry-level wine from one of the great producers of a highly underrated region. Pinot Noir-like finesse and elegance. It needed time to open up and reveal its aromatics but was worth the wait. Dried rose petals, cherry, pomegranate and blood orange with a hint of old iron coming through. Subtle flinty minerality showing unique volcanic terroir. The fruit is slightly saline on the mid palate and echoes the blood orange aroma with a certain pithiness while mint and herbal components show up on the finish. Slow-building tannins and mouth-coating acid structure. Rustic wine with a beautiful minerality.

Aromatic bright red fruit, balanced with earthiness, high acidity, and a mouthful of fine-grained tannins. Very easy drinking.

On the nose blood/iron, cherries, mild clove, flint, honeyed fig, and rustic funk. On the palate very approachable and gulpable with tart red fruits, smoke, and sweet pipe tobacco.
