Bishop Barossa Valley Shiraz

Ben Glaetzer is a great producer, however this particular wine was not showing well. Unbalanced, heavy oak, grippy bitter tannin. Typical notes of blk pepper, eucalyptus and licorice. Some mint and clean potting soil.

Sarah cooked bulgogis, I opened Shiraz.

Eucalyptus nose. Velvety and rich fruited palate. Mmmmmmm.

5/2004. Nice texture and tannins with a good finish. Paired well with the ribeye at Hall’s Chophouse.

First drink for Xmas. Entirely appropriate for this year.

Dark ruby. Dark Jammy fruits, dried plum, black tea, white pepper. Attack is fresh, mouth is multilayered with dark cherry, black fruits, red berries, spices, tannins and structure finishing on a nice red fruit with freshness and length

Great mid priced shiraz

Fabulous! Great value as well. Plums, dark chocolate and, surprising to me, no pepper for this Barossa Shiraz. Very balanced tannins. I’ll be back for more.
