Fun to try old bottles & the cork here was in pretty good shape. Upright bottle few days. Decanted off sediment. Campfire embers / smoky grill aromas. Medium bodied and medium acidity, with more smoky flavors and leather on the palate. Fruit has faded, although there is a slight hint of dried cherry. Smooth finish.

Pepper, clove, and smoke on the nose. Surprisingly juicy on the palate with hints of watermelon. Smooth tannins for a relatively young Barolo. Nice peppery finish.

Cherry cola, crushed roses, tobacco, sun dried tomatoes, toast, dried thyme. Rounded acid/minimal narrow smooth velvet tannin balance, full bodied, juicy-slightly silky texture, smoky, slightly earthy finish. Softer, subtle interpretation.
