Bekkers Wine
McLaren Vale Syrah Grenache
Again, this is not the 2015. It's the 2016; which is not quite finished. Not finished until it goes into bottle. More warm Grandma's candied baked pie fruits of; blueberries, plum, black raspberries, raspberries and delicate florals on the nose. The palate fruits are very ripe, elegant and slightly candied; blackberries, blueberries, black raspberries, more than delicate minerals, rich semi-sweet dark earth, beautiful mellow acidity and a harmonious finish that doesn't end. Beautiful wine that brings on a whole body experience.

Apr 12th, 2017The nose is like walking into a Grandma's house and she just pulled a spiced fruit pie from the oven. The fruits and body are again very much in a Burgundian style...very elegant and delicate. Ripe & rich; black plum, blackberries, blueberries, black raspberries. Soft, soft, soft supple spices, delicately soft crushed rocks, beyond soft minerals, delicate tannins...lightly powdery and mellow sticky, dark, rich warm black earth. Then, the lighter, ripe fruits of strawberries & cherries come on the mid palate. The finish again is beautiful, delicate fruits, super soft, lean tannins, mellow smooth acidity. I have a ton more Australian wines to post. I'm so far behind, but this is my favorite Australian wine of the trip. It's like drinking DRC from McLaren Vale. To me, just as good for a lot less $. Toby and his dog Smudge featured in the photo. Thank you Toby for such a great after hours tasting.
