Complex yet delicate. 2015 vintage is in a great spot. Pinot Gris can be interesting and this proves it.

Popped and poured; served with cedar plank grilled Copper River salmon and Nordic mac & cheese. Extended skin contact gives this Pinot Gris a pale red color (in the case of the MMXV, darker than a rosé but not quite ruby colored). Cloudy with a significant amount of sediment. Given the combination of aging in amphora and acacia barrel, I expected more complexity. Instead, this was really a very one-dimensional wine. It was all fresh strawberries. Low tannins, and low-ish acid makes this come across a touch flabby for my tastes. But it is amazingly pure...and a good match with the meal. There is only a minuscule amount of this wine made so it was nice to have an opportunity to try it. Hoping more recent vintages are giving something more though.

Sulphuric. Unfiltered. Nuanced fruit notes as the sulphur blows off. Interesting and unique.

Amphorae (1/2) and a good amount of skin contact. Yum 😋

Kool-aid red in color, floral nose with a hint of orange zest, minerally crushed raspberries on a light and slightly tannic palette, and refreshing acid.

Surprised by the hint of pink in the wine, nicely fresh and clean like a Pinot Gris

Only 4 cases made. Surprising salmon in color. Well structured with a bit of initial grip that mellowed with time. Quince and fresh butter. Delish.
