Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

This is 1981. Some fruit there after an hour. Pale flavors.

Can't get enough of these old Napa Cabs', if only there were producers still wanting to make an elegant style of Cab, it's such a pity that scores have dictated wine style in the last 20 years...

Dark molasses, fruitcake, prune, port, raisin, all sorts of stewed fruit. Way lighter than I would have expected. Still some really nice acid and structure, and opens into a bit of fruit. A decade or two past its prime, but super fun to taste.
