Classic Napa comfort food. After hours of heavy traffic driving into the western sun and over the bay bridge... I picked up this old friend at Safeway with dinner. A bit of vanilla, oak, cocoa powder, dark cherry, smooth tannins... and I am recovered! (Substitute Rutherford dust for the cocoa).

Raisin, cocoa, leather and baking spices on the palette. Definitely needs time to breathe. Felt somewhat unbalanced. Lengthy finish. Wouldn’t race out to buy this one again.

BV grapes, first planted back in 1900, by founder Georges de Latour. A Rutherford beauty, complex aromas of fruit, spice and earth. On the palate blackberry & cherry flavors with cacao, oak and leather. Firm fine tannins, balanced, lingering ending with tons of fruit, oak and earthy mineral. Nice!

ratings were light in my humble opinion, rich dark berries, cocoa, light tannins. hmmmm yeah the light spice probably brought it down a tad.

V15. Very nice wine. Toast and cedar nose. Fruit bomb, juicy black currant with plum hints fruit. Smooth, slightly chewy and tight finish. Nice food and entertaining wine.
