Dark and red fruits upfront followed by leather, menthol, smoke, and earth on the back end with some spice notes as well. Noticeable oak influence with hints of vanilla.

Dec 18th, 2015Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! The wine Napa valley should be making a lot more of! Great, flavorful blend with lots of dark fruits, leather and tannin without the usual overdoe of oak. All that at a resonable price too!

Oct 10th, 2018Bouquet of ripe raspberries, smoke, vanilla, and oak. The oak remains throughout but always plays a supporting actor role. I expected tons and tons of it here but it plays it's part and mercifully never tries to overshadow the other players. One word sums this up: drinkable. And that's not an insult at all. A lively palate of dark fruits, cocoa, and truffles. Not nearly as austere as I was expecting, this is at times downright playful. The balance is star of the show, even at 14.5. Very pleasant stuff.
