Earth, tannin; this vintage still can lie for 5 years yet I am impatient. Wines for this blend? Cab, Zinfandel, Syrah, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Touriga Nacional, Tempranillo, and Charbono! This blend maintains a tasty balance with all these flavors and is at 14.5% alcohol.

Good red blend from 2010 heart of Napa. There are 7 or 8 varieties in this blend. Great Friday night wine watching Trump beat up the Dems during campaign

Bouquet of ripe raspberries, smoke, vanilla, and oak. The oak remains throughout but always plays a supporting actor role. I expected tons and tons of it here but it plays it's part and mercifully never tries to overshadow the other players. One word sums this up: drinkable. And that's not an insult at all. A lively palate of dark fruits, cocoa, and truffles. Not nearly as austere as I was expecting, this is at times downright playful. The balance is star of the show, even at 14.5. Very pleasant stuff.

Dark fruits. Sharp and rough bite, best with a steak.

Decent daily bottle for $10. Don't let it get past two days.

Dark and red fruits upfront followed by leather, menthol, smoke, and earth on the back end with some spice notes as well. Noticeable oak influence with hints of vanilla.

ratings were light in my humble opinion, rich dark berries, cocoa, light tannins. hmmmm yeah the light spice probably brought it down a tad.
