Beaucanon
Cuvée Louis Napa Valley Cabernet Franc
Black cherry and chocolate covered strawberries on the dark nose. Succulent tannins that danced on the tongue transitioned into sour cherry and milk chocolate undertones. Not heavy on the fruit, but nice body.. Awesome cab franc.

1 person found it helpfulAug 4th, 2014On the eyes: Clear and bright with a deep garnet color with light shades of brown. Medium viscosity with no gas build up or sediment.
On the nose: High alcohol, nail polish remover, and sawdust that finishes with raw tobacco and warm molasses.
On the tongue: Medium acidity, medium tannin, Sour Bing cherry, and oak. Finishes with Red Pear skin and brown sugar.
Really great but not super complex. Would pair well with Prime Rib or grilled Portobellos.

Nov 1st, 2015Another Total Wine pick-up, mainly for the 8 years on the shelf. The Beaucanon vineyard began in 1978, and this vintage won the silver medal in a San Francisco Chronicle Competition. That's about all I could find out about that. But, you know, enjoy, if you like heavy tannin! ~ $26 | #beaucanon #cabernetfranc #napavalley
On the eyes:
Blood Red/Garnet, Opaque, with Med Tears/Stain, No Gas/Floc.
On the nose:
Med+ Alcohol, Vinous, Overripe Cherry, Tons of Oak, Black Fruit.
On the tongue:
Med+ Alcohol, Med+ Acid, High Tannin. There's Black Cherry, Current, and Black Tea. Heavy Oak overpowers any lasting Fruit. Weak complexity. Drink now.
