Really hoped for more; opened after being very surprised with the Barbaresco but knowing if that was at its prime, we needed to get that baseline! Notes of violets and vanilla; bright cranberry and cherry wood with elegance throughout. Not great for the vintage/varietal…but splendid for the price

decanted for ~60 minutes after initial tasting (closed). Opened up with strong cherry and plum notes, but lacks meaningful complexity. Great value, though - can’t complain considering it was ~$21
