Unbelievable amount of dark spice, gamey and herbaceous notes fronted with sour raspberries and black cherries

Everything in the right place but very restrained. Gentle tannins. Subtle complexity. In the same vein as the 2008 but much more closed.

02! Looking superb. Drinking beautifully now, soft and inviting and very deep in complexity. Spices and earth, hints of Dutch liquorice and black fruit. Still on the fresh side but so glad to open it.

Been a while between Barratts for me and this is a joy. Brambly, sappy pinosity with a distinctive Adelaide Hills character. Pretty much singing at this age.

Distinctly reminiscent of the Golding 2011. I guess aged Adelaide Hills pinot really does have its own DNA. It’s a big change of gear from Giant Steps. Plummier and broader with a softer acid profile.

Very enjoyable as always, perhaps without quite impressing as much as some vintages.

Evolving past its best now, I feel. Still a lovely wine, for sure, but the warm secondary characters are starting to take prominence and the prettiness on the nose is fading. Drink!

Such a pretty nose. This wine always reminds me of autumn. Drinking very nicely now, with such softness yet depth. Some spice and sour cherry. Lovely.
