⚡️ New release ⚡️

The boy has released his latest vintage of the Double Trouble Shiraz & Cabernet blend (thank you for the sample Trent)! This 2017 @barossaboywines tipple is a blend of Barossa Valley & Eden Valley fruit.

“Trent Burge grew up a keen cricketer and footballer, revelling in the camaraderie and competition of local teams. He followed this passion to England, spending several years playing seasons of cricket and returning home to work Barossa vintage. Double Trouble blends two outstanding regional varieties in tribute to the boy’s time in this ‘double life’ of one endless summer.”

So it was a no-brainer we had this with a bbq (yes I know my last post was about wine + bbq but hey, it’s the season for it!).

In the glass it’s a deep mulberry colour. On the nose, I jotted down these descriptors: black fruits, tar, savoury, mint, cooling. While in the mouth it’s just dark right yummy. With those juicy black fruits coming through alongside a balance of earthiness. A delish summer red option ☀️

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Have you met the new boy in town? @barossaboywines are a brand new label, from you guessed it, the Barossa Valley. Winemaker, Trent Burge, is a sixth generation Barossa winemaker who has crafted his stories into his range. This ‘Double Trouble’ 2016 Shiraz Cabernet retails for $30.

It’s a striking deep garnet-purple colour on the eye and aromatics hit you as soon as you screw off the cap. Think notes of mixed berries, black pepper, earth and dark chocolate, it’s rather sexily seductive if you ask me. In the mouth it’s full of bold fruit, yet it’s soft and lush in texture, with fresh mint, berries and chocolate dominating the flavours for me. I loved it!
