This wine from an exceptional vintage is showing really well right now. Elegant, high acidity with silky tannins and aroma and flavors of violet, plum, sour cherry, black cherry, leather, clove, wild thyme, and anise. Lovely long finish.

An ok Chianti, better with food. Smells like leather, tobacco, and blackberries. Full bodied, acidic bite, raspberries but has a mustiness at the end that makes it finish watery. There just are better Chiantis out there. These issues may also be attribute to the old vintage.
