Cuvée del Maule Red Bordeaux Blend

This has some age, so that hazelnut nose comes through (a classic marker for me)

A unique blend of Chilean varietals, dried figs, dried prunes, lots of dried fruits here, some iodine and a hint of lead.
Subtle acids, well rested tannin.
love to find these Chilean gems.

Too heavy on the eucalyptus-y Cab for my taste, as that overwhelmed the nose and palate for me. Meh.

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Strong nose of blueberries, cherries, plums, earth, bitter herbs, Pine, toasted oak, vanilla, roses, smoke, eucalyptus, violets and white pepper.

Light to medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Tart on the attack, and dry on the palate, with plums, sour strawberries, raspberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, earth, leather, green pepper, dark coffee, tobacco and peppercorn.

Medium finish with soft tannins and tart raspberries.

This Chilean blend is drinkable and simple. Not special, but not offensive either. An easy drinking red wine. Drinkable by itself and better with food.
Better after 60 minutes of airtime, but good right out of the bottle.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

A blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Carignan, 8% Pais, 7% Carmenere, 7% Cinsault and 4% Merlot.

14% alcohol by volume.

Partial carbonic needs to be used more in South America. Super cheap for the quality.

Smells like beaujolais has body 14% juicy easy

Great blend. The balance of fruit and austerity is on point.

Very well made Bordeaux blend with a little age. Huge QPR.

Great wine. I haven’t had cab in a while and it didn’t disappoint. This wine was structured and layered.

Fantastic Bordeaux blend. This natural wine is brighter than most. The wine is in a nice spot from a balance perspective.

Some of my favorite wines are the inexpensive surprises. Bordeaux blend from altitude. Drinking incredibly well. Dark, well rounded, and austere.
