Bright pale gold with a wee bit of haze (unfiltered?). Strong mineral and green apple on the inviting nose. Brisk acidity leads the medium palate which yields layers of ripe green apple, grapefruit rind, wet stone, Melba toast, and others. Finish is stony and lingering. Amazing example of GG Riesling from a premium VDP producer. Ready for a wide range of foods from fish to pork. Upscale of course. Drink now through 2040.

Star bright pale straw. Inviting nose of ripe pear and white pepper. Medium light palate echoes the nose with the pear trending more green apple. Cold honeysuckle and a hint of cement are also present beginning mid palate. Finish is moderate but appropriate for the variety and style, and adds a brief bit of… unfinished caramel to it all. Bracing Rhein acidity throughout, even as it warms. Very good and complex GG. Will satisfy the connoisseur, but still approachable to the novice. Drink now through 2030.
