Baldacci Family Vineyards
Black Label Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Estate grown, deep Ruby with red/black fruit aromas and flinty spices. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and blackberry with cedar spice and vanilla notes. Medium+ length, firm tannins, ok balance ending with oak and mineral notes. Ok, but pricey, better ones for less $$. Tasting Sample!

Mar 22nd, 2021It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This one is gorgeous.
Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.
Nose of blackberries, black plums, black cherries, cedar, spices, vanilla, licorice, eucalyptus, chocolates, tobacco, coke, coffee, leather, black pepper and pencil lead.
Full-bodied, bold and rich, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, vanilla, cedar, licorice, mocha, coke, light earth, coffee, chocolates, tobacco, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a wonderful Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Showing a great mouthfeel with great complexity.
Still young and will age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Rich and fruit forward. Nicely balanced, smooth, elegant and spicy. The spices hang on well after the long finish.
Delicious right out of the bottle with firm tannins that ease up, as it opens. I gave it a couple of hours in a decanter.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from a Single Vineyard.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
94 points.
$90.

Black cherry must and hints of green pepper on the nose. Deep, dark and earthy on the palate. Complex with increasingly scaled and heightened astringency that peaks on the elevating finish that tickles the upper throat. Differently delicious and interesting.

Dark ruby in color, almost Inky, with a short reddish rim.
Strong fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, toasted cedar, vanilla, tobacco, Za'atar, chocolates, coffee, cola, black pepper, eucalyptus and spices.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, licorice, light cola, coffee, spices, tobacco, dark chocolates, light earth and black pepper.
Long spicy finish with fine grained tannins, peppercorn and cherries.
This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap. Spicy and interesting. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel at this point.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime, when the tannins calm down.
This 6 year old Single Vineyard Cabernet, is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
I had this vintage a couple of years ago and it is even better now.
Delicious and engaging. Fruit forward and good by itself as a sipping wine.
