So complex, matures beautifully. Candied pecans and bruised stone fruit, well balanced, not cloying

Jul 22nd, 2021Very earthy and savory. Not a huge fan of the dried raisin element, but interesting nonetheless.

Mar 2nd, 2021Unlike any other Merlot I’ve ever had. Savory and herbaceous. Intense nose of black truffles, sous bois, and dried rose petals. Lots of secondary and tertiary notes on the nose and palate. Color is quite evolved but I think this would still be good for a few more years although it’s drinking beautifully now. Still a month left to go in 2020, but so far this is the best bottle I’ve had all year.

Dec 6th, 2020This 2001 Merlot has an attractive bright red color, not too dark or inky. Great nose, with some leather, underbrush, and sour cherry elements. Long, complex, sharp acidity, a tad sweet on the finish. Good stuff.
