Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo

With a bit of airing the nose develops nose of rose, moist underbrush, dried spiced cherries, crushed rock. Lean bit flavorful, the palate starts with a big whack of crunchy cherry and quickly goes minerally. Not especially concentrated, but it’s got acidity and a bit of tannin that helps it cut through a rich meal — in this case a rich, long-simmered meat sauce.

Jul 18th, 2022Nicely delineated. Structured in just the right way. Classic aroma, lovely on the palate, an awesome expression of alto Piemonte Nebbiolo, though not as red-fruited as I expected.

Wowza! A big nose of tar & blood oranges. Both day 1 and 2. A minimally f’d with Nebbiolo from a cooler site, put into large Slovenian oak. Not forever, but enough. No wood apparent. But it’s luscious, just short of full. ( There have been Baroli pass these lips that were not up to this). A hidden gem.

N: cherries, licorice, tar, violets
P: fresh cherries on the palate with a bit of white pepper, tomato water, tobacco, and savory herbs. A bit tamer on the palate — was expecting a little more punch — but pleasant.
Nice either sausage and mushroom pizza.

Excellent Langhe Nebbiolo. One of the best I’ve had.

Feb 11th, 2021Hard to beat for $22. Aromas of walking through a field of flowers. Cherry, rose petal, and fresh tobacco flavors. Reminds me of a top tier Cote du Py.
