fabulous traditional merlot, medium body, dry & mildly tannic, sur lie. well structured complexity in taste, many complementary tones but nothing dominating, nothing too fruity. guessing oak barrels, but oak is well integrated, not contrived. taste of moderate maceration, pleasant taste of natural fermentation, good volatiles behind it, dry pleasant finish with good length, evolves nicely in glass. reportedly organic. taste is in keeping with region. might not have liked it as much if super young.

Silky merlot. My friend said it tasted ‘watered down’ which meant to me, none of the garbage fake oak. This is the perfect merlot to have with the perfect pizza. Dirt and fruit finish. Cherry. Like dancing a minuet.

Am not a big Merlot fan but this is an interesting take. I understand the grapes may come from Slovenia or Croatia and that they then get bottled in Italy. It's light and fruity but pleasant esp as a summer-time red. Will buy again.

N - fresh rain, juniper sprigs, blueberry bush, cherry juice
B - whoa, fresh! Varietally pure: plush blueberry and cherry, hint of fennel, soft tannin, slightest touch of brett or possible mousiness on the finish (not perceived as flaw in this case). Beautifully textured (with bottle age?)
