Full bodied to the point of overkill. The nose was all dark fruit and spice. The palate was massive for a pinot, with dark cherry and plum dominating. Hints of savoury spice but no acidity or tannin to balance out the overblown fruit. Not overcooked or late picked, just overblown and perhaps over-extracted.
