Exceptionally rich yet nervy, Lohsa 2013 Morellino di Scansano is certainly cut along the local Sangiovese lines of this DOCG but this is cut of a finer woolen and fragrant cloth true to the Poliziano house whose handsome strength comes through in savory spiced cherries and al dente tannins. A wine to serve with wild boar or crispy duck.

Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2012, 14. Aged in oak barriques for about 8 months. Garnet color. Elegant and sophisticated, balanced and very well made.

Like walking into a barn early morning. Pleasant and more to the elegant side. Light for a morellino (at least the ones i have tried)

Pretty complex fruit and spice, rounding out with apple. Maybe because it’s fall
