Violet, cloves and all l manner of dark cherry - dried, fresh, even liqueur. Undertone of earthiness that has almost completely mellowed yet present. Elegant, powerful, serene.

As someone who tries to not by green bananas it's a bit hard to evaluate but I think this is already great and will only get better. Impressive!

Dense, brooding, slightly dull today. Preferred their normale brunello from a few weeks ago at the Bascule-Chicago tasting.

Strong manure in bouquet. Flavor very spicey, earthy manure lost in spice and bittertannins. I know this wine is highly rated (understatement) but not my favorite.
