Dark purple mixed with bloody red, hazy, with a bit brownish and dead leaves color on the rim. The nose is beautiful with succulent cherry and strawberry jam, tobacco leaves, awakening leather note, and anise type of spice. The fragrance keeps coming and saturates the nasal cavity. Taste is also superb, with balsamic acids hits you first, slight sweetness of berry comes next. Complexity like earthy notes, tiny touch of graphite, zest, herbs, tobacco leaves, sinks in slowly. Aftertaste of zest, cherry jam note, and a bit milk chocolate, and very mellow in tannins. Probably let her breathe for some minutes, but enjoy her now.

Gorgeous! Drinking beautifully right now. This is a Cab / Merlot blend with a bit of Cab franc thrown in for fun. Cassis and tobacco leaf - the nose explodes. The palate is like silk. I really like everything Avennia produces, but this is one of the best I’ve had. 2013 vintage on Apr 5, 2019.

Dec 24th, 2018A very solid effort from WA. 73% Cab, 18% Merlot, 9% Cab Franc. Opened an hour before pouring and it needed it. I would decant for 30 if opening in 17 or 18. Quite nice, smooth tannic structure and bright berry fruit on the palette.

smells like strawberry jam slathered on red meat. the mouth adds: candied strawberry, wood, redcurrant, ripe cranberry.... the mouthfeel is incredibly light and buoyant given this wine's fruity intensity. pretty amazing.

Outstanding wine, needs more time, still very tight. Shows great structure with lots of potential. Smooth mouthfeel, full bodied without being overbearing
