The 2016 'Oliane' is a fantstic Sauvignon Blanc made by Avennia and winemaker, Chris Peterson. This stunning wine is drinking marvelously, as it begins with aromas of bright pear and green papaya aromatics with a touch of lemongrass. The palate shows a wonderful texture and a good sense of place. Bright Gravenstein apple, lemon zest and kumquat with Pink Lady apple flavors come to mind. Rich and satisfying, yet refreshing this is one of the best of its kind in the state. Drink 2019-2025- 92

Very well-done effort to make this wet stone bright superbly balanced wine. 2013 vintage tailor made for diver sea scallops with a lemon beurre blanc at El Gaucho.

Bordeaux blanc-like. Touch of acetone, and funk. Fruit is diminished on the nose, barrel aging has really changed this, but definitely more complex. Very creamy and spicy.

Best SB in WA, methinks. Like a clean version of BX blanc (mercaptan-less)

This is from a very old vine classic style all native yeasts 100% Bouchet and red willow vineyard two of the oldest vineyards very cool sites pink grape fruit jolly rancher candy just a touch of new oak. Ripe melon fruit tongue tingly mineral notes at the end. Bright and fresh style of SB leaves the tongue salivating for food. Finish 40+ excellent +

I bought this bottle for a discount as the owner of the shop thought that it was developing a bit of funk. Well, one man's funk is another man's pleasure. I'm not a natural wine dude by a long shot (check the review of any natty wine in my profile!) But this funk is my cup of tea. VA is present and I didn't taste the wine before and maybe the VA masks some of the finer notes but the flavors that it imparts are honeyed vinegar -actually a wonderful balance- think of switchel made with honey instead of molasses- appealingly drinkable.
