Summer, sun, beach and Vinho Verde! This was my first experience with Vinho Verde. I loved it! Litchi Fruit on the nose continued by nice floral notes. Fresh acidity along with tropical fruit flavors.

For under $10.00 this wine (2013 Aveleda Vinho Verde Portugal) is a perfect pairing for a hot summer day! I paired this Vinho Verde with baked skinless lemon chicken and kale, brussel sprouts cranberry salad...the light to med body with hints of green apple citrus notes and minerality was a match made in heaven!

We tried this white on a recommendation from Beppi. First noticed the crispness and it almost effervesses. We were grilling some giant shrimp and cracked it while we grilled. Agree with the "superb aperitif" and it was great with the shrimp when we ate. I think this was $10 from LCBO.
