Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. Already showing age...😃
Very pronounced nose of over ripe dark fruits, plums, cherries ,light vanilla and spices.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry to off dry on the palate with plums, tart cherries, raspberries, spices, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Short finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very simple Merlot from California. Unbalanced and a little sweet, but drinkable nonetheless. Spicy with a soft mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and gets better is it opens up.
I paired it with a cheese plate by the pool.
