The 2007 Auteur Sonoma Stage Vineyard Pinot Noir is a bit tired and feels like the fruit is fading. On the nose, aromas of dust, dried cherries, dried rose petal and a hit of alcohol. In the mouth, a stemmy high note, followed by rose petals and red berries, but nothing really precise. It finishes slightly hot, too. As we say in WSET speak, it's past its best.

The nose is starting to show a hint of age that doesn't really translate to the palate which is still juicy, fresh and vibrant.
This should be in prime drinking window for the next decade.

A nice example of Sonoma Coast pinots. Still had ample fruit, but it was a bit muddled and there was definitely some heat/alcohol present. Very pleasant earthiness.
