Dick signed this for my wife Lydia. We had the sister bottle recently and wish that Merlot had more followers. It is sublime. The fruit, complexity and depth is there, in fact great Merlot can show greater complexity than pure cab Sauv. I'm going to try to find and drink more high tier Merlot.

Finally got a Coravin and raided my father-in law’s cellar. We didn’t think this guy would make it to 2018 but we were quite mistaken. Terrific Merlot with hints of lavender, chocolate, and leather.

5/14/2018, wow a surprise this 20 yr old Merlot is perfect. The cork resisted but this vintage is at its best, mellow notes but complex and interesting.
