North Coast Trousseau

Like this - it’s very light, bright, some earth. Sour cherry, cranberry, strawberry. Like it slightly chilled

Gone in 60 seconds. Ok not literally but that’s what it seemed like, just so damned tasty. If someone wanted to know what the new generation of Cali wine was all about in one glass I might hand them this

So lovely - beautifully aromatic, floral, such excellent balance. Just 12.1% abv. Truly lovely.

Great texture. Softly juicy/jammy. Strawberry preserves. Delicate w/great acidity. Almost creamy texture. Very versatile with the Farmer’s tasting menu at Blue Hill.

A good year for this one. I’d like to cellar a bottle, but doubt any bottles will survive until spring.

Be warned this wine is addictive. Cherry candy but good acid and earthy backbone. Comfort wine!

So delicious with a little chill on it. There’s an interesting meaty/iron note as well.

Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee lunch...always such a treat to attend. This week, Dan hosted. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All blind as usual.
What. A. Head scratcher! Wow. Never had a wine like this. Nobody in the room guessed the varietal. In the glass, it looked like an orange wine. Sherry like. Nose and palate were so cherry dominant...cherry sours candy, cherry tart, licorice and even orange rind. I called it Beaujolais.
