This wine is a full of contradictions. On one hand it shows tons of sweet citrus (grapefruit, tangerine, lemon pith) and hints of vanilla. On the other it shows more savory spice notes - basil - yes, BASIL - and hints of pepper. This so layered and complex. Creamy, polished and drinking so well (just as @David L said it would be). The extra barrel age and higher amount of Semillon shows. This was elegant and fun - totally delicious and great on a hot afternoon.

So baffled. Never , ever.....EVER have I had any wine that defied my pallet, but fascinated it so immensely in the same sitting. Bizarre.....yet beautiful. Pungent......yet poised. Intense......yet intricate. It's like the damn Ringling Bros circus clowns conducting a symphony orchestra

40 yr old semillon vines. Incredible nose. Tropical palate. Papaya & Mango. Killer wine.

Quite a find. Heavy nose of sour grapefruit candy and basil along with hints of barrel toast. The palate is dried pink grapefruit, loads of basil, oak, cream, chalky minerals, citrus oils, lanolin, clementine zest, Honeybell Orange, clove, allspice. The layers just keep on coming with each sip. Broad and luscious mouthfeel. Finishes with more basil, citrus, and spice. Amazing complexity. A winner!

Really nice white blend made in the Bordeaux style. Very excited to put this away for a few years and come back to it.
