Arianna comes from the Spoto family out of Cali (this is their daughter).

I last had the 2018 vintage of this which was more tropical SauvBlanc in profile than the 2020. What made this unique for me is that the aromatics reminded me of a slightly hoppy summer Hefeweizen…coriander, orange peel and a weedy/herbal component. On the palate, it has a nice richness. Small tropical flair (more so on day one with sugar frosted guava), but mainly lemon-lime candy with a finish that trends more stony/mineral with a lingering note of lemon oil and lemongrass. This wine is best suited with food, especially Thai food.

This is from the Spoto family. Specifically, their daughter made this from Lodi Silvaspoons. If you aren’t familiar with Spoto wines, do yourself a favor and try their wines (specifically their Godfather blend and their Private Reserve cab).

My first time trying a torrontes wine. Very perfumed and floral aromatics...similar to some of the big Napa SauvBlancs being put out these days. Smells like a densely packed Viognier too. There is crushed limestone, chamomile, sea salt and underripe peach. Waxy and medium bodied palate. Herbal, slightly weedy with a tart lemon-lime and honeysuckle note. I think this is better slightly chilled as opposed to when it gets closer to room temp. Incredibly unique and at the $25 price point, undoubtedly worth it. Thanks for the heads up

@Delectable Wine this is Arianna by Spoto Wines... the wine entry needs to be modified. Dang. I've had a couple of torrontes, but this one blows them all out of the water. Nose of citrus and herbs. This wine begins with a very heavy, weighted mouthfeel. Dominant notes of lemon oil, lime creme brulee, herbal character and seems to get a little bit of limestone grit on the finish. Classic torrontes for the most part but on steroids (Silvaspoons Lodi) and with more of a weighted body and finish that resembles more of a chenin blanc. You wanna drink these now? Go ahead. Wanna keep them for five years? No sweat. Unfiltered. Originally ordered 3, then ordered a case, and now only have 7 total. Sigh... QPR this one is a 9.8!
